This Year Was…..

This grade 7 year was incredible. We had more privilege since we are the leaders in our school. This year, Art was fantastic, we did the Mandela, Spring Art, Olympic athlete, the mosaic and other more arts. My best art was probably the 3d castle and my Olympic athlete since I got 4 on both of them.  In socials I learned a lot about the ancient time such as the Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Mesopotamia. These ancient civilizations were fascinating just the way they dress and how they treated women and slaves. In Math I gained more skills in adding, subtracting, multiplying, subtracting and other things such as geometry and angles. Even though I gained more skills, there was one thing I hated the most at math which was 4 pages of math homework. It was painful but I still hung on in the end. In grade 7 we had quite alot of fieldtrips, we went rock climbing, sledge hockey, paralympic curling andwe recently went kayaking and went to PNE. PNE was fun we went to the coasters and on the other rides. The rides that we didnt go on was the drop zone and the revelation, we werent able to go there since you have to pay 10 dollars per person. Some of my classmates were able to go there. Overall Grade 7 has been a blast!.

The Visit to West Van High

This Monday our whole grade went to West Van High for a tour. We went to the cafeteria and meet our tour guide (former grade sevens in Ridgeview).  I was partnered with Han and our grade 8 tour guide was Thomas. First of we went to see North Campus, there we looked at the cafeteria and it was empty because the bell haven’t range yet. After that we went to see the woodwork, auto, English, Mr Doudline’s class and some other rooms. When we were finish we went to his current class which was the cooking class. There the teacher was making a pizza and it was quite boring because all she did was talk and we didn’t even get to taste it. My tour guide was bored so we went back to the south campus caffeteria. There we just waited for our teachers to dismiss us. My friend Han also bought me a soda to drink while waiting, so i was really happy aout it. Alot of more groups came and then all of a sudden grade 8s were coming in. There was alot of them, the room was full and it was overwhelming. Overllall the visits to West Van High was Great and I am Ready for high school

March 12, 2010

This week was the second week of school after the Olympic Break.  I  had a fever and cough last Friday night until Monday. I had to miss School on Monday because I still had fever but I went to school the next day.  On Monday night I called my buddy Charles, my buddy Charles . He always help me with my homework. This week we started gymnastics at P.E.  at first lesson it was boring but the next lesson was great because there was a spring board. At the spring Board we did 360 twist and 180 twist and then land in a motorcycle land. Today we did gymnastics again, it was fun we did handstands, Blake and I tried to do a push up in handstand but we were only able to do 2. It was really hard because u need ballance and power to lift yourself up. Overall it was great second week after the olympics.

February 5 2010

This week week was our last curling lesson. The curling was fun but my team leader forgot to put our team sheet on the bucket so we had be put in to different teams. The team that was in was all girls so Ihad no decision to what position I wanted to be. The position that I got was Third, the third had to brush the ice every time someone throw the rock until it will be my turn. When we were playing the other court had an accident. They said that our classmate had slipped and hit her head on the ice ,so our principal had to call her mom and put ice on her head. They said that she’s alright.

Before we went to Curling we went to our buddies room. There we had to help our buddies make a Valentines mail box. I think that my buddy did the best he could. His design was cool, he made a Valintines face that i helped him with. After that they had to put glitter on the valintines box. My buddy put lots of glitters.

On science we were experimenting pendelum. My group did pretty well. while we were experimenting on the long string the other group tries to hit our bottle so we had to redo our experiment. We redo our experiment like maybe about 4 times because when ever we drop our bottle we somehow hit the other groups bottle or hit people that is in our way. The experiment was a succesfull.

This is what we did during this week

Back To School

The first week back to school was very tiring due to not having enough sleep. The first day of school ‎our teacher; Mr. Beck gave us math homework on the first day. It was also 2 pages long. The math ‎homework was very mathematics and refreshes our memory. On LA we had to write about our ‎Holiday so we can have our focus back. ‎During the week they had to fix our bathtub so at night we had to go to our neighbor’s house and they kindly let us take a bath, but now our bathtub is finish. This week we started a new assignment on art which is to draw the Olympic rings and inside it we had to draw winter events in each circle. During the week I haven’t chosen a book to read for our reading book so at Thursday I went to the North Vancouver library to get a book. When I was looking for a book saw “Hannah’s Diary” and picked it up but then my mom called so I had to put where I got it and answer my phone. By the time I talked to my mom I couldn’t remember where I put the book so I just randomly pick “Swimming in a Sea of Death”. Right now I am reading this random book and it’s boring because all he talks is about her mom getting a cancer and I though this was true story, real life adventure book but its not. This is just my opinion because I just started reading the book and hopefully it will become interesting when I read more.

Christmas Spirit

‎ Today, December 4, 2009 was our Christmas cracker making. We went to our Kinder Garden class and ‎made Christmas cracker to donate to Queen Mary School, Grandview Elementary, Harvest project, ‎and the Covenant House. When they have their Christmas dinner they will receive a Christmas ‎cracker. When we were went to the kinder garden room my buddy, Kyle, was not there because he ‎went vacation in Mexico, so I had to buddy up with Connor, Owen’s Buddy. We couldn’t go to the gym ‎to do our Christmas cracker because it’s being painted. Mrs. Brown was not there so we had to show ‎how to make a cracker to our buddies. My group made over 4 crackers which were great but other ‎groups got like 9 crackers. After we finished our Christmas cracker we went outside because we don’t ‎want to run out of roles for the afternoon kinder garden.‎

This week of school, I had lows and highlights. My low was that we dint win the championship but we tried hard so i have no hard feelings.

I am Silent Day

‎ Today was our first “I am Silent Day”, Silent day is to raise awareness for the children in Africa who ‎doesn’t have any right to say “no”, for example a child is sold by his/her parents sold him/her and ‎he/she has no say about their parent decision. A lot of the child labours are children working really ‎hard and the other is on war .Schools across British Columbia are also participating to this event. My ‎school’s goal is to raise $3000 to buy 2 clean water supplies to the African Villages in the end of our ‎year if we can raise more than that we will also get them health care. We grade 7’s will be the only ‎one that will be doing this event including our grade 7 teachers. It is very hard for me to communicate ‎to my fellow classmates when we are at our class. When I and my partner Charles went to our job as a ‎lunch monitor the children were taking an advantage to us because we can’t tell them to keep the ‎nose down. We split the day to 7 periods, each time your silent for that period you get signed by your ‎teacher and in the end you will collect all the money that you were sponsored. Let say you have been ‎silent in a period and one of your classmate sponsors you, you collect the money they sponsor you. So far i only have $9 collected.‎

Field Trip On The Aquarium

Our fieldtrip in the aquarium was fun and we learned new things. One thing that I learned is that if you see a small frog and it has color strips on it like green red it means that this frog is poisonous. Another interesting fact that I learned is that if you get stung by a small jellyfish you can still die because of its poison. When we finished looking around we went and learned about the tropical rainforest. I learned that if we keep on doing what we are doing to the rainforest it will soon disappear.

Before we went to the tropical rainforest tour we had a change to go to the 4D movie, “Planet Earth”, in this movie they were talking about the ocean. It was really fun, in the movie you get to feel everything that is happening like when in the water you get splashed in the face and at the back threes a kind of stick and then hits you. This is what happens in our fieldtrip.

Friday November 6th

This week was a bad week because on Wednesday I sprained my ligament while I was playing basketball. I sprained it because a classmate of mine was trying to kick my basketball but instead of the basketball it was my thumb unfortunately. We went to the doctor and said that it will heal 7 to 10 days but if I have a good rest I might not have to wait that long. Right now my thumb is better but it still hurts when I try to bounce my basketball hard. It’s also a bad week because of the last time change because somewhat when I wake up in the morning I find my self waking up so early at 6:30 because I always wake up at 7:20. Hopefully my thumb will be healed soon and I hope that I can adjust to the time change.

Aquatic Ape Theory

I think that Elaine Morgan’s Theory is probably not true because I don’t think that there’s such thing ‎as an Aquatic Ape. No one has even seen an aquatic ape because she hasn’t prove that there is fossils ‎and in order or someone to prove to me that its true there has to be evidence that Aquatic Apes ‎actually exist. On the Land Ape theory they actually prove because they included fossils about apes ‎evolving to modern humans. I’m believed in god but really I don’t believe that he created humans ‎because one god can’t create all the things that are on earth. This is my opinion about Elaine ‎Morgan’s theory.‎
